We recently began coaching a team in Madagascar to reach 10 UPGs (unreached people groups). The team has started traveling to the different villages. One area alone had 18 people come to accept Christ and be baptized. The Lord is moving in this island nation. Learn more about this work at hubs.la/Q01RMfKP0
"Pray without ceasing." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
.
Have you ever wondered what Paul meant by that statement? What does that practically looks like for me? There could be at least 3 things that Paul was exhorting us to.
.
1. Not giving up on prayer.
No matter how many times we have become discouraged by not getting the answer we desire from our prayers, don’t let it limit or stop you from continuing. This was a very important lesson that is on the heart of Jesus as seen in Luke chapter 18... “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up...”
.
2. Pray repeatedly and often.
Paul used the same phrase “without ceasing” in Romans 1:9 in reference to the Romans. It would have been impossible for Paul to spend every waking moment of his time praying for the believers in Rome, so the logical assumption is that he meant that he prayed repeatedly and often.
.
3. Practicing the presence of God.
A simple, yet profound definition of prayer is keeping company with God. It is recognizing that His presence is with us every moment of every day and because of that truth, acknowledging Him and involving Him in all the activities of our day. It is to be in constant communication with Him. Most of the time, this is not going to be audibly speaking to Him, but a silent, rolling dialogue that should also include ample times of active listening. It is a deep abiding dependence on Him. Because He is always ready for us to engage Him, it is absolutely possible to pray without ceasing.
.
Spend time thinking about and seeking the Lord concerning anything you may have spent a long season in prayer for and did not receive the answer you were hoping to receive. If something comes to mind that is not contrary to God’s moral will and if you have not sensed that you should stop praying, make a commitment to re-engage. Sometimes God’s answer is “no”. Other times His answer is “not yet”, because he wants to develop faithfulness in you. View more global prayer requests at hubs.la/Q01Shc3p0

Last week, two new believers were obedient in water baptism in Slovenia. Our family there has been so faithful to sow abundantly. This is a wonderful praise! hubs.la/Q01QTP220
